Forbes is honoring the climb through literacy. Thanks to the efforts of the Alpine Foundation, and generous donations of Operation Literacy and Utah Humanities, author Shannon Hale visited our students. She talked about the journey of trying to become a published author after receiving more than 80 letters of rejection. Each student received a signed copy of one of her books. That afternoon, teachers commented that they couldn't do anything in class because the students were wholly focused on reading her book! It was a fantastic day to celebrate the climb in reading and writing!
